Old Glory

In late September of 2001, my 13 year old son Kevin and I created this rendering of Old Glory on our home on Huckleberry Hill in Redding, CT. Conceived in remembrance of the victims of 9/11. The red stripes (hardiness & valor) are done in Western Red Cedar shingles, the white stripes (purity & innocence) and the stars (fifty States of the Union) are done in Alaskan Yellow Cypress shingles, and the canton (vigilance, perseverance and justice) is done in pre-weathered red cedar shingles.
